Exactly What I needed

Just found this program, its exactly what I needed. Set up was simple, I was able to place a form on my webiste and also a link for users to sign up for my email list. Couldnt be simpler. Nice looking templates for HTML mail.

Major flaw when inserting graphics

Such beautiful templates but about 80 to 90 percent of them cannot be customized when it comes to inserting or replaceing the generic template images. They told me to insert the logo, photo or graphic in Word or something like that and make it smaller until it looks right. Okay, so because it is free I decided to do this silly work around but heck after going back and forth 10 times or so I give up. So what is the use? They claim this is okay and that they have no plans to fix it and I whether the app is free or you pay for the premium, or whatever they call it, it will stay the way it is. Okaaaaay?….then goodbye folks! If I want I can use Mailchimp online. I just wanted something with a nice template I can use when I am not able to get an internet connection. See…I am always worling on something…. :) Mailchimp lets you send well over fifty emails free with their account and they totally intergrate professionally, with facebook and other social media. They are awesome and give away a LOT for free. Its just all on the internet. Hope this help you. If you are using this for your business or networking its a lot of work to create a newsletter or something and then have such a hard time with the graphics. I dont understand why they cant fix it. But they just say (without using those words) "tough!"

I am peeing in my pants!

UPDATE: HEADACKE GUY WAS RIGHT. Full of bugs: built an email from their template and at one point was no longer able to edit the headlines. I saved, quit and reopened only to find that my work was nowhere to be found. Deleted. Back to MC. If this thing proves out to be as great as it has for the last hour, it will be one of the best peices of software Ive "bought" in years. I absolutely HATE HATE HATE working with mailchimp templates. Mailchimp should have done something like this long ago! Thank you!!!!! And for the "headacke" guy, seriously… too bad theres not a way for companies to rate users.

Super Easy!

Im new to apps like this…. so you might want to take what I say with a grain of salt. I was used to simply mailing to groups using my mac mail app. I wanted more mail list control, url-like appearance, and things like unsubscribe and update email address available to the recipients. This does all that and more. I learned Direct Mail quickly and had my first customized mailing out in about half an hour. I grabbed graphics from my website and incorporated it into one of their many nice templates. My product looks fresh, professional, and recognizable to those on my list. What happens after you send is fun. Within 2 minutes of sending, I knew that 10 people had opened and looked at it. I knew who opened and how many times they opened. As the day progressed…more opened…then I started getting responses. I also was alerted to bad email addresses…so I can fix my mailing list. Duplicates are excluded automatically. You also know what kind of email programs theyre using. I never knew it could be this cool. One caveat, It is not free. When I downloaded it said "first 50 emails are free." I thought that meant 50 mailings to the groups. Doh! It means 50 emails. So if your group size is 50, your done after one send. You are given an option to buy. 5000 for $59 (or thereabouts) You also have a one time option for about $99 if you are more web savvy and you want to run it through your web service host. I didnt know how to do that so for now, I paid. I will figure out how later. I love this App. The web-based faq and instruction area is also good…. only had to use it for one issue though. The rest of the experience was pretty intuitive. The company seems to have scruples. They do not want their customers to be spammers. I like that. At the bottom of each piece that is sent out is a link to report as spam. I like that.

Needs more work!

After using it, there are several comments on it. First, its a nice format and generally easy to use, but it is a pain to make the address lists. It adds each one then insist on going back through the entire list instead of going back through the process to the last address. After using it twice, it quit responding. I uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results. What a pain. Now I have lost my work!

Don

After spending hours creating a great e-mail campaign, and loading the e-mail addresses, the app crashed and would not send! Even after re-loading and jumping though all of the hoops…nothing! There is no customer support phone number so you have to communicate via e-mail. Use Mail Chimp or Constant Contact and dont waste your time or money!

Awesome

I have been procastinating on sending a newsletter to my subscribers for a while because I didnt think it was simple. Not only is this app simple to use but I love the way it reports to let me know how the newsletter is doing in real time! Love it! Well worth it!

Needs improvements

Been using this app for almost a year. The biggest problem I see is that it cuts off the newsletter on gmail. Clients have to open in their browser and in this day and age they should not have to. for $15 a month other companies like constant contact have no problems with this. I might have to look at other options. Also, you can’t upload an entire existing newsletter or template, you must use thier layouts. Still a decent program but needs work

No Editing to the template possible

it’s a great app quick and very easy to use. its unique problem is that you cannot edit a template by adding text, changing the text box size, no adding picture possible when not existing in template. hope it can be arrange in the next versions

Relies too much on templates.

Relies too much on templates. The templates are composed of bocks that have common configurations, a 2 column block with an image on one side and text on the other, or say 3 columns with 3 images and text below each image, etc… Why not just have a panel that contains block elemnets like these for quick drag and drop insertion into your email? Allow users or third partys to construct and save these blocks in the panel.

This software is awesome

I use this to send emails to for all my clients. Easy to send emails and use your own html code. The reporting is fantastic. PDF reports are a great value add and a trust builder with my clients. I used constant contact for a while, but I tried this and never looked back.

Love this App - it lets me be as personal as I aspire to be.

I am a clergy person of a 700 household congregation. I use direct mail to communicate in a persoanlized way with my congregation. I write a lot of personal notes too butw hen I want to get something out in a blast email but want to include personalized information like first na,es or sign up or other details from a spreadsheet DirectMail is the best tool i have found. Emails are formated for the proper device, the templates are professional and attractive and the reporting function is insightful. With no long term contract are cluncky web interface I just think this is the best tool for the important yet challenging job of communicating personally with hundreds of people.

Almost perfect…..

So the reporting is great, very helpful from a marketing standpoint. The templates are *good*. The app itself is easy to use, for just a standard email. Functionality is good, its the creative part that is mising for me. PICTURES are difficult to add the templates are very difficult to add pictures to- you have to size the picture just right to get it to appear correctly in the "drop zone” and I’ve had to experiment many times with trying to get the picture just right. It would be hepful if you could crop as you add it. But still there is some kind of glitch that even when I size the picture exactly like the drop zone, it appears teeny tiny after I add it and I can’t enlarge it. TEMPLATES are not easily modifiable or easy to create I like to create my own templates, DM touts uploading word documents as templates etc. Only works for the body. I can’t get the style to transfer (pictures, backgrounds etc). Yes I read your website, no I still can’t get it to import correctly. If you had a template that you could free form create IN the app, that would be fantastic but as of now, all you can do is use theirs and “add” sections but forget adjusting the color scheme. As I said before, ALMOST perfect……but not quite.

Great quick alternative to online email clients

I’ve used this app since they first released it and have always found it helpful and useful. The templates are a nice addition - I don’t used them, I always code my own html and don’t have a problem when I send them out. Everything works just like it should. The feed back is great, as well as the spam test and email render testing. (I wish more of them were free, but I’m pretty happy with the ones provided) I’d like to see some simple way to put my own responsive templates in with the ones provided.

Awesome!!!!

Hands down the best email marketing tool I have ever used! The reporting is excellent, and the UI is the most user friendly that I have found. They have found a long term customer!

Exactly what I needed...

Couldn’t be happier with this app. It has done exactly what we needed it to do without any issues at all.

A wee bit of a learning curve, but...

Once you get past it, it’s very easy and makes for an elegant and sophisticated presentation. Just be sure to let your subscribers know that they can easily unsubcribe at any time at the very top of your emails and provide the obvious link to do so. This will virtually eliminate any spam complaints. The reporting mechanism is invaluable and allows for intelligent analysis. I’ve been sending out email twice weekly to my subscribers with this app for over a year.

Great with some small issues

Great app, but I have an issue… I need to use custom mail fields and it doesn’t work. I add it, and then when I go to send the email it gets deleted.

Great Newsletter App!

This app makes it easy for me to design a newsletter for my team. Although it is a HTML newsletter, no knowledge of HTML is needed. The app lets you choose from pre-designed templates then you can adjust them to suit your needs. Would definitly recommend this app for anyone needing to compose a monthly newsletter/mailing.

Great app and simple to set up!

I just bought this app and have sent out my first mailing. It is simple and wonderful. I had no problems whatsoever. Although not required, I am using it together with Mail Designer 2, and it works beautifully. I am only sorry that I waited so long to start using it. 5 stars!
